Incheon International Airport
Incheon International Airport brims with a distinctive energy. It’s a convergence point for the excitement and anticipation of its visitors.
Strangers from around the world, each with their own stories, are heading towards different destinations, yet they share a sense of identity as explorers of the unknown. It's a remarkable sense of synchronization that emerges amidst the bustling rhythms of the airport. In this special place, they intersect with each other, meet temporary companions, create new narratives, and sketch the patterns of the globe.
While the term "in sync" often accompanies other words to highlight the harmony, connection, and comprehension within relationships, this group exhibition In Sync aims to synchronize our senses to explore our invisible relationships and future possibilities. Conceived on Yeongjong Island, a land once defined only by sky and earth, this project seeks to reimagine the complements of the airport as a place of art, perspectives, and emotions.
Featuring 11 curated video works by previous Paradise Art Lab-selected artists, known for their works at the intersection of art and technology, such as AI, kinetics, biology, gaming, and data visualization, each artwork is crafted through interactions with materials and data. These pieces are available for detailed viewing on the main display at Incheon Airport and in physical spaces (2nd Passenger Terminal, 4th floor).
Our interconnectedness is undeniable and inevitably in sync. Individual steps merge into a greater order, and small movements come together to reveal a grander whole world. As we move beyond the pandemic towards new experiences, art offers us a pathway to explore, share, and remember a range of emotions, inviting us to confront a reality filled curious wonder.
